Experience:

In the past two decades Joe Kaufman has worked with clients drawn from across a spectrum of industries, including agriculture, manufacturing, high tech, import/export, retail and electronics distribution. Joe has crafted a legal career that combines interests in agriculture, entrepreneurial ventures, and international manufacturing and distribution operations.

Since 1997, Joe has served as independent General Counsel for American Vanguard Corperation of Newport Beach California, Umax Technologies, Inc. of Freemont California and since 2002 as Council with several Hong Kong- and Taiwanese-based firms. He has also served as outside counsel to a diverse group of U.S.-based business clients, including Arvesta, BizLink/OptiLink Technology and Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc.,and Newsoft Technologies, Inc.

Joe served as Vice President and General Counsel with UMAX Technologies, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of UMAX Data Systems of Taiwan through 2001. Prior to that he served as General Counsel of American Vanguard Corporation of Newport Beach, California.

Joe has also been part of the historic work carried out by two Plaintiff's firms representing victims in the Catholic Clergy Abuse litigation in California.

Joe is a lawyer who also has substantial experience in the legal fields of Employment and General Commercial and Agricultural Law. He has added these areas of expertise to Du Val Business Law's repertoire when he joined the firm in early 2006.
